With the new year quickly approaching I’ve decided to set a “New Year’s Resolution” goal. Anyone who knows me will tell you my love for sports. For me it doesn’t get any better in sports than college basketball’s March Madness. The opening weekend of the NCAA tournament I’m pretty much glued to my TV and laptop with brackets in hand and pretty much dead to the world. (My wife can confirm this!)
Back to my “New Year’s Resolution” goal. I always seem to find a handful of teams in the tournament that I absolutely love watching. It might be a particular player, coach or just style of play. When the tournament ends I find myself wishing that I had watched more of these “cool” teams play. So my goal is to watch every single NCAA team in a major conference by the time the NCAA tournament starts. And of course, blog about it. Major conferences are: Big Ten, ACC, Big East, Big 12, SEC and PAC 10. I know this will probably upset some of the mid majors out there, but honestly I can only watch what’s on my TV. I don’t have ESPN full court so I’m limited to just regular channels. It will be hard enough to see some of the teams that don’t play on TV much from the major conferences let alone the mid majors (except Gonzaga…they are on TV as much as Duke now!)
There it is. I’ve laid it out there and it starts tonight. I’ve got Oklahoma and Oklahoma State playing on TV tonight. I have 85 days until Selection Sunday.
